Day 115-121 – In Which I Take Exams, But That’s Not Important

I bet you’ve been wondering how my exams went since those were probably the most enthralling part of my semester abroad so far! So I got back to Sydney last Thursday at about 11:30 pm and had an exam for HCI the next day at 1:45 pm. I had not prepared for this exam at all before the trip so I drank copious amounts of black tea and stayed up almost all night studying. Wheeeee! Day 47 – Sydney Olympic Park

On Sunday I went with the BAB on an adventure which ultimately led us to the Sydney Olympic Park. Before that we wandered around Chinatown and ate delicious Japanese Ramen at the top of a super sketchy elevator in a decrepit-looking building. I rode to the EQ Markets, which are quite close to campus and discovered my favourite markets yet! Most of the merchandise is food. At EQ on Saturdays you can get meat, fish, cheese, fruits, veggies, nuts, tea, spices, and pretty much every other delicious item you can imagine. I ended up buying wasabi-flavoured olive oil on a whim and also a bag of avocados for $6 (cheapest avocados I’ve yet seen). After the markets I found my…

Days 14-17 – In Which I Study Really Hard

The first week of the semester at UNSW they do this awesome thing called “A Welcome Day.” Doesn’t that sound so fun and welcoming!? Well, at this welcome day all the student clubs at the school and even some external businesses and organizations will set up booths along the main walkway on campus. You can go to these booths and get free stuff or just talk to them about their function and activities. As an added bonus they had a petting zoo with cute little ducklings, bunnies, and goats.   As I was walking by the petting zoo I bumped into…
